Love this Lelia. I don’t think we talk about this duality enough and it keeps us from experiencing all the joy that life has to offer. Healing does not need to take place for joy to exist. Thank you for this post!

“Healing does not need to take place for joy to exist” — so well said. It reminds me of my friend Beth Shipp’s recent essay: https://substack.com/home/post/p-180563014

Ooooh, that’s beautiful. Fave line: “The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.”

Also, this is jewelry Xiaobs and I both have: https://mimosahandcrafted.com/collections/joy-sorrow-collection?srsltid=AfmBOoosayRkjKkrYu3ArXSgHp89X-r2Aqt10QxEQjZpj6AyvqrE8qww
